Morning Thoughts

Morning Thoughts

Movement building through my lens got me stressing

I am stressed because my youthfulness won’t last forever

I was told my voice is power,

My leadership will lead others to empowerment

My passion wishes and dreams will come true just be consistent

However, my morning thoughts got me stressed because every time I wake up and glance over

News breaks out that woman’s rights have been turned over

We are once again checked, stripped, and changed through their lens.

Change can be good but change from people who don’t live and breathe our streets our stress our roots our neighborhoods can be detrimental

I was told to keep fighting, abolish the system, and know your rights

It’s been a back and forth back and forth fight this is where I pause and say to my younger self that it’s only the beginning

I try to rest knowing that every day I have to fight that’s why I am a warrior that’s why we have to love and respect one another.

My morning thoughts got me stressed but now I know I am not in this fight alone

If I don’t wake up in the morning someone with great power will predict my future through the lens of governance.
